How long will my permanent makeup last?
Every person is different so it does vary, however, the average time ranges from 1-3 years depending on skin type. You will be advised to attend a top-up appointment annually to keep your brows looking fresh.
How will I know what shape and colour to have my brows?
Together we will create a shape that suits your face. We will measure from specific points on your face to get this measurement perfect. The shade of pigment we use will be determined by your hair colour, skin under-tone, eye colour and how soft or defined you’d like your new brows.
Can I still get permanent makeup whilst pregnant or breastfeeding?
It is not advised to have permanent makeup whilst pregnant and it is advised you wait until you have completely stopped breastfeeding before having this procedure.
Why do I need a top-up appointment?
The top-up appointment is performed 4-6 weeks after the original procedure. Top-up is necessary for perfecting the result in case of any minor colour or shape imperfections.
Is having permanent makeup painful?
While some people may feel no discomfort at all, others may find the procedure a little uncomfortable. A topical anaesthetic is used prior to the treatment in order to alleviate some discomfort.
Is permanent makeup the same as tattooing?
No. Different techniques, equipment, and pigments are used. Permanent makeup implants pigment into the upper layer of the dermis. Tattoo pigment is implanted much deeper into the skin. The main difference between permanent makeup and an ordinary tattoo is the pigment used. Permanent makeup uses oxide-based minerals, which are hypoallergenic. Tattoo ink is unsuitable for use on the sensitive skin of the face.
